Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Noah, and I am a 10th grader in Science For Inventors. One of the main reasons I took this class is because I believed it would give me a look into pursuing aerospace engineering after high school. I want to take out of this class to design, test, and improve aircraft. I feel some strengths will help with this goal and the course in general. One of them is that I would say I have an engineering/problem-solving-based mind which will aid me in figuring out what has gone wrong with something if it did. Another strength that will help in this class is my mathematical knowledge. This will help me with the equation-solving side of building aircraft and model rockets. There are some main personal projects that I want to work on this year, one of which is an experimental line of aircraft similar to the U.S. Air Force and NASA/NACA X-Plane program. I am starting to work on the first aircraft, a basic solid motor rocket. The most significant challenge involved in this class will be teaching myself certain equations to calculate the center of gravity, the center of mass, the center of pressure, etc.
